6x zoom lens for your cell phone

As the quality of cell phone cameras quickly increases I guess it was inevitable that peripheral devices like zoom lenses would come along. And here we have a decent lens designed specifically for the Motorola RAZR V3 and Motorola KRZR K1 (or their shanzhai equivalents).

You can see from the “with” and “without” images below the difference the lens makes, and according to manufacturers, Brando Workshop, the peripheral also helps with luminosity, provides super wide angle support, and is good for color reduction (is that a good thing?).

With phones these days packing 8, 10, even 12 Megapixel cameras, additions like this that increase device usability could prove popular. I imagine Brando are just dipping their toe in the water with this RAZR version. If there’s enough interest expect to see iPhone and HTC versions shortly, which could really kick start the camera peripherals market.
